A trauma informed workshop for health & wellness professionals
March 2 & 3 in Kelowna BC
Join the journey of professional enhancement and personal growth with "Collaborative Reduction of Perinatal Harm: A Trauma-Informed Workshop for Health & Wellness Professionals," co-facilitated by Founder of My Powerful Birth, Michelle Tyliakos, alongside Trauma Expert Lea Morrison. This pivotal weekend workshop is an invitation to health care practitioners to deepen their understanding of trauma-informed care, elevate their practice, and challenge the prevailing standards of perinatal health care.
Day 1 is an immersive exploration into the essence of trauma and its implications in perinatal health. Engage with didactic learning and interactive exercises that will provoke thought and inspire change. We'll collectively discuss impacts of trauma and learn self-care techniques that fortify our ability to support ourselves as practitioners.
Day 2 builds on this foundation with a focus on advocacy and the development of comprehensive birth plans. We will review standards or care, policy and physiological birth, equipping you with the skills for a practical application in your professional environment.
Designed for a diverse group of professionals — from Nurses and Midwives to Doulas, Naturopaths, Counsellors, Chiropractors, Registered Massage Therapists, and various alternative practitioners — this workshop is a commitment to improving pregnancy, birth, and postpartum support through collaboration.
Upon completion of the workshop, participants will receive a certificate, symbolizing their enhanced ability to recognize, reduce, and share about trauma and its impacts not just on individuals, but also on co-workers and society at large.
With these new insights, you will leave the workshop confident in your ability to effect change and advocate for trauma-informed care in your practice and community. Join us in this critical weekend to transform perinatal care and contribute to a space where every birth is met with knowledge, compassion, and collaborative care.
